maintained from individuals dedicated to their craft, committed to caring and driven to improve their

Meet Our Medical Director
Dr. Amanda Caparso
Dr. Amanda Caparso D.O. graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and received her D.O. from Touro University College in Henderson, NV. Dr. Caparso has worked in San Diego for the past eight years. She has been a hospitalist and has worked for Palomar Health as well as Scripps. She has held administrative roles, and was also the director for the hospice/palliative care unit for Palomar. She is currently working for Neighborhood health care as a primary care physician.
She has lived in San Diego for eight years with her Husband, a surgeon at Sharp, and their two boys. She has always found the most challenging and rewarding thing in medicine is being honest and truthful with patients about the course of their illness.
She has always been driven by the belief that patients long for a physician who speaks their language, who is down to earth, and who can be honest about what the road looks like ahead.
“I have always found caring for patients at the end of their life to be the most rewarding and meaningful moments, It’s about choosing life, choosing not to suffer, and choosing to enjoy the moments you have left.” That is what I hope to bring to my patients and families along with the Shores team.
Our Origin
Shores Hospice came about in an unexpected way. The three managing partners come from very different backgrounds but were brought together by a desire to raise the bar in the industry. As their loved ones get older and exposed to new challenges, together they decided there could be something better in hospice care: Shores Hospice – our mission is to provide exceptional care and set a standard in hospice by empowering our team to act with unmatched compassion and support to our patients and their loved ones.
